* BOOKMOBILE While Kahuku Library undergoes repairs, its bookmobile makes stops on Jan. 4 at Hauula Civic Center at noon and at the BYUH campus at 1:30 (Temple View apartments) and 3 p.m. (student family housing); and on Jan. 11 at 11 a.m. at Sunset Beach Christian School and 2 p.m. at Kuilima Estates. * MEDITATION TIME

“Mindfulness Meditation” is offered from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Jan. 8 at Mililani Hongwanji, 95-257 Kaloapau St. The program is a guided, silent and walking meditation based on the Thich Nhat Hanh tradition. Call 625-1022.

* ROYAL MUSIC The Royal Hawaiian Band performs a free concert at noon Jan. 9 at Mililani Town Center. Call 625-5233.

* PLAZA OPEN HOUSE The Plaza at Mililani, an assisting living rental community, hosts its first open house from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 9 at 95-1050 Ukuwai St. Call 626-8807.

* MICRO BUSINESS

Micro Business workshops are offered Jan. 9, 16, 23 and 30 and Feb. 6 in Calvary Chapel’s Wahiawa office at 532 California Ave. for lowand moderate-income people wanting to start their own small business. Call Joe at 778-9270.

* BASEBALL CLINIC

George Nitta conducts a Central Oahu Youth Baseball League clinic from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Jan. 9 (Shetland and Pinto levels) and Jan. 10 (Mustang and Bronco) at Mililani District Park. Fee is $10. Call 399-2302.

* BLOOD DRIVES Hawaii Blood Bank conducts donor drives from 7:30- a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Jan. 11 at Leilehua High School and from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Jan. 16 at Mililani Town Center. Call 845-9966.

* OAC ART The Oahu Arts Center exhibition is open through Jan. 23 at Pauahi Tower Gallery downtown. Opening reception is from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Jan. 11. Call Corrine Gallardo at 271-1344.

* MEETING DOGS

Hawaii Dog Foundation hosts a “meet and greet” with its adoptable dogs from noon to 2 p.m. Jan. 16 and 30 at Mililani Mauka Dog Park, 95-1069 Ukuwai St. Call 782-8387.

* NEIGHBORS Mililani Mauka-Launanai Valley Neighborhood Board meets at 7 p.m. Jan. 19 at Mililani Mauka Elementary School cafeteria, and the Wahiawa board meets at 7 p.m. Jan. 25 at Wahiawa District Park. Call 768-3710.

* CHILDREN COUNCIL

The Central Oahu Children’s Council meets at 6 p.m. Jan. 20 in the Leilehua Golf Course dining area. All parents of children with special needs are welcome. Call 655-4777.

* ART WALK The monthly Haleiwa Art Walk runs from 6 to 9 p.m. on the last Saturday (Jan. 30) in Haleiwa town, featuring sales, activities and events from dozens of merchants. Call 637-2284.

* HULA Kumu hula Ali’i Manu conducts non-competitive hula classes (auana, kahiko and the aloha spirit) for the community at 7 p.m. Tuesdays at Mililani Uka Elementary School. Men and women ages 15 and up are welcome. Call 478-2400.

* WAIMEA HIKES

Waimea Valley offers a variety of hikes for visitors every Saturday and Sunday, plus themed walks, crafts, music, games or storytelling every weekday, Let’s Speak Hawaiian on Mondays and Fridays, and much more. For fees and details, call 638-7766.

* WAHIAWA MUSIC

Higher Ground Cafe has live entertainment from 7:30 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday at 70 Kukui St. Call 622-8000.

* ART IN THE PARK Interested artists meet from 9 to 10 a.m. each Wednesday for self-directed drawing and painting at Wahiawa Botanical Garden. Call 621-5463.

* HALEIWA MARKET

The Haleiwa Farmers Market is open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Sunday at old Kamehameha Highway and the Bypass Road. The event offers more than 40 vendors with locally grown or made products. Call 388-9696.

* WAIPIO MARKET Kaiser Waipio Clinic hosts a “fresh day” market of healthy food and produce from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each Wednesday at 94-1480 Moaniani St. Call 432-2270.

* MILILANI MARKET Mililani High School sponsors a Farmers Market from 8 to 11 a.m. Sundays in the gym parking lot. Call 848-2074.

* COUNTRY MARKET The North Shore Country Market runs from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays at Sunset Beach Elementary School.

* YOGA Jasmine Yoga has yoga classes for all ages at the Weinberg Community Center in Waialua. Call 561-9639.
