* HEALTH TALKS The Elder Care Series at ORI Anuenue Hale has free lectures and exercise for seniors from 1 to 3 p.m. on various dates throughout April and May. Topics planned include Hyperthyroidism April 8, Sleep Apnea April 15 and Bone Spurs April 22. Call 622-3929.

* PLANT TIPS Wahiawa Botanical Garden has a free program on “Secrets of Plant Propagation” at 9 a.m. April 9. Call Brian at 621-5463. * MEDITATION A “Mindfulness Meditation” is offered from 7:30 to 9 p.m. April 9 at Mililani Hongwanji, 95-257 Kaloapau St.It’s a guided, silent and walking meditation based on Thich Nhat Hanh. * NORTH SHORE HIKE Hawaiian Trail & Mountain Club leads a 6-mile intermediate hike to Kaunala in Paumalu at 8 a.m.April 10.Go to http://www.htmclub.org.

* SPRING FLING Trinity Lutheran School has its annual Spring Fling from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 10 at 1611 California Ave., offering entertainment, rides, games, a bake sale, food, silent auction and crafts. Proceeds support technology. Call 551-6498.

* ART RECEPTION Wyland Galleries Haleiwa presents North Shore artist Heather Brown in a one-night show/reception and raffle from 6 to 11 p.m. April 10 at North Shore Marketplace. The show is held in conjunction with Women’s Pipeline Pro. Brown did the contest’s poster, and she’ll sign copies of it at the reception; women surfers will be there to meet fans. Call 637-8729.

* ASSEMBLY DAY The Jehovah’s Witnesses host a Special Assembly Day at 9:30 a.m. April 11 at their Mililani Assembly Hall, 239 Pali’i St. with Bible-based lectures, interviews and practical demonstrations on the theme “The Time Life is Reduced.” Call 623-8332.

* BAND BINGO Leilehua High’s Band Boosters host Spaghetti Bingo Family Night from 5:30 to 8 p.m. April 24 in the cafeteria.Tickets cost $10 for dinner, two bingo cards and a prize drawing ticket. Proceeds go to the band. Donations also are welcome. Call 224-4080.

* ART WALK The monthly Haleiwa Art Walk runs from 6 to 9 p.m. April 24, offering activities and exhibits throughout the town. Call 637-4558.

* FOLKTALES Storyteller and former children’s librarian Dave Del Rocco shares “Stories from Around the World"at 10:30 a.m.April 24 at Mililani Library for ages 5 and older. Call 627-7470.
