* WAIALUA MOVIE Waialua Community Association has a free family movie night from 6 to 8 p.m. July 16 in the WCA gym with popcorn and drinks at 50 cents each. Call 637-4606.

* BON DANCES Haleiwa Shingon Mission has its bon dances at 8 p.m. July 16 and 17 at 66-469 Paala Road (637-4423), and Wahiawa Ryusenji Soto Mission has its dances at 7:30 p.m. July 23 and 24 at 164 California Ave. (622-1429).

* BENEFIT SALE St. John Apostle and Evangelist Church has a benefit garage sale from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. July 17 at 95-370 Kuahelani Ave. Call 623-3332.

* LAIE HIKE Hawaiian Trail & Mountain Club leads a 7-mile intermediate hike to Koloa Stream in Laie at 7:30 a.m.July 18. Visit htmclub.org.

* NEIGHBORS WahiawaWhitmore Neighborhood Board meets at 7 p.m. July 19 at Wahiawa District Park, Halekoa Building; the North Shore board meets at 7 p.m. July 27 at John Kalili Surf Center (on the agenda: better management of the Mokuleia portion of Kaena Point State Park); and Mililani-Waipio-Melemanu meets at 7:30 p.m. July 28 at Mililani Rec Center III. * COLLECTION DRIVE The Mililani location of Hawaii Self Storage (223 Akaimainui St.) welcomes donations for Ho’omalu O Na Kamali’i, a children’s receiving home on the Leeward Coast. * WAIMEA ELDERS Waimea Valley’s “Cherish the Elders” program invites kupuna to spend the day learning and enjoying the park. Fee is $5 and no minimum group size is required. Call 638-7766.
