* ADULT SCHOOL Wahiawa Community School for Adults registers students Aug. 2-12 for a variety of fall classes at its Leilehua High School campus office. Call 622-1634.

* MEET AUTHOR Hawaii author Douglas Corleone answers readers’ questions at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 3 at Wahiawa Library. His latest legal thriller is One Man’s Paradise. Call 622-6345.

* JAZZ AT DOT’S Dot’s Restaurant presents kanikapila jazz from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m.

* HALEIWA LUAU Liliuokalani Protestant Church hosts its 36th annual luau from 1 to 4 p.m. Aug. 7 at 66-090 Kamehameha Hwy., featuring live music and plenty of traditional foods. Tickets cost $17.50 dine-in or $15 take-out. Children 10 and under pay $10. Call 637-9364.

* ROYAL MUSIC The Royal Hawaiian Band performs at noon Aug. 7 at Mililani Town Center. Call 721-4578.

* MEETING DOGS Hawaii Dog Foundation has a “meet and greet” session with its adoptable dogs from noon to 2 p.m. Aug. 7 at Mililani Mauka Dog Park, 95-1069 Ukuwai St. Call 782-8387.

* HOT RODS Hawaii Independent Cruise Nights is at Mililani Town Center from 6 to 10 p.m. Aug. 7.

* SCHOOL DRIVE Wahiawa Lions Club collects donations of school supplies from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 7 at Wahiawa Shopping Center and Aug. 14 at Tamura’s Market. Items will go to students at area elementary schools. Call 621-0852.

* BLOOD DRIVES Hawaii Blood Bank has donor drives from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Aug. 7 and 21 and Sept. 4 at Mililani Town Center. Call 845-9966.

* HAWAII POLO Hawaii Polo Club presents India versus Hawaii (with music by Blue Light Funk) at 2 p.m. Aug. 8 at the Mokuleia polo grounds, and Army versus Navy Aug. 15 (and a Battle of the Bands). Admission is $8, and gates open at noon. Call 226-0061.

* SOIL BASICS Wahiawa Botanical Garden conducts a workshop on “Soil, Don’t Call It Dirt” at 9 a.m. Aug. 13. Reserve a seat at 621-5463.

* MAORI ARTS Polynesian Cultural Center hosts the 11th annual Te Manahua Maori Cultural Competition at 6 p.m. Aug. 13 and 9 a.m. Aug. 14, featuring haka, poi and kahahu (attire). Admission is $10 and $6. Call 293-3333.

* SAVING HISTORY Wahiawa Historical Society’s Bob Lormand shares ways to preserve your personal history, family records and photos in a free class from 10 a.m. to noon Aug. 14 at Wahiawa Hongwanji Hall. Call 621-3373.
