* SPECIAL OLYMPICS Tesoro’s Mililani Town Center and Mililani Mauka gas stations welcome donations to Special Olympics Hawaii from Sept. 1 through Oct. 5 as part of its “Fueling Dreams” campaign for the SO Holiday Classic in December. Those who give at least $5 will be entered in a drawing for $500 fuel cards. Call 943-8808.

* HEALING SPIRIT Waimea Valley hosts an international culture, arts and healing festival from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 4 as part of the Healing Our Spirit Worldwide gathering and workshops, set for Sept. 6-9 at the Hawaii Convention Center. Call 597-6550.

* CLOSURES All public schools and libraries are closed Sept. 4-6 for Labor Day.


* BLOOD DRIVES Hawaii Blood Bank has donor drives from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Sept. 4 and 18 at Mililani Town Center and 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 11 at the LDS Mililani Stake. Call 845-9966.

* BANDSTAND MUSIC Roshan and Shivani perform at 4 p.m. Sept. 5 at Waialua Bandstand, sponsored by Friends for Michael Magaoay. Call 637-9721.

* CANDIDATES Waialua Community Association sponsors a forum of candidates for the state House, Senate and City Council at 6 p.m. Sept. 8 at Haleiwa Gym. Call 637-4606.

* BOOK SALE Friends of Mililani Library have a book sale from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 11 in front of the library, with bargain prices on all kinds of books and materials. To help at the sale, call Alice at 626-7292.

* CHESS TOURNEY Mililani Chess Club has a chess tournament from 1 to 5 p.m. Sept. 11 at Mililani Town Center. Call 625-5233.

* DAIKON FESTIVAL Honbushin International Center hosts its annual Daikon Festival from 4 to 9 p.m. Sept. 11 at 95-030 Waihonu St. with dances, food, cultural activities, crafts and plenty of vegetables. Call 623-7693.

* GARDEN CLUB Mililani Garden Club meets from 9:30 a.m. to noon Sept. 16 at Mililani Rec Center VI in Mililani Mauka. Call 625-8789.

* AUDITIONS Diamond in the Rough Productions holds auditions for Annie at 5 p.m. Sept. 16 and 4 p.m. Sept. 18 at Applause! Performance Academy, 614 Kilani Ave. All ages and ethnicities are welcome.
