Anuenue Hale Has Open House, Senior Fun Fair

The newly expanded ORI Anuenue Hale complex plans a Halloween Senior Fun Fair and Camp 808 Open House from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 29 at 64-1488 Kamehameha Hwy.

Hundreds are expected at the free event, which will showcases the new campground and pavilion. Program director Yvonne de Luna said proceeds from fair booths will support ORI’s services to the elderly and developmentally disabled.


 

The fair also features a costume contest, mini produce market from Helemano Plantation, drinks, door prizes and a special prize for the group bringing the most senior attendees. For details and to RSVP, call 622-3929.

Wahiawa’s Community Policing Team will process senior ID cards and share safety information for the elderly. (They also will direct traffic.)

Heartbeat Hawaii and Guang Zhong Music Ensemble will entertain. Former Korean TV chef Toni Lee will share how to make sushi and kim chee,and June Tong of Popo’s Kitchen cookbook will demonstrate Harm Joong.


John Carpenter and Peggy Oshiro will lead brain exercises, tai chi and chi kung for the crowd. On duty for “Ask a Doctor” will be Dr. John Magauran.
