Assisted Living Rental Facility Breaks Ground In Mauka

A $24-million assisted living community is coming to town, signaled by a blessing and ground-breaking ceremony Nov. 13 on Ukuwai Street in Mililani Mauka.
The 94,000-square-foot The Plaza at Mililani, which will be modeled after its sister company, The Plaza at Punchbowl in Honolulu, is planned as a rental development providing assisted living and memory care for seniors. It will cater particularly to seniors in Central and West Oahu who are looking for a community that offers a variety of amenities and levels of care, yet does not lock them into a mortgage or a buy-in community. It is expected to open next fall.
The Plaza at Mililani will have 128 units with a mix of semi-private and private suites. It will provide services on an as-needed basis, supportive personal care services such as bathing, dressing and toileting. Medication management services will be available and delivered by a trained and professional staff.
In addition, the facility will be able to care for those with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia and other related memory disorders.
Kahu Pratt conducted the blessing, and the golden shovel crew included MW Group Ltd. principals Mike Wood and Steve Metter, Central Pacific Bank vice president Todd Jackson, Sound Building Systems Hawaii Rick Skelton and John Delaney.
