The Better Business Bureau will stage a battle in its war against identity theft this month at Mililani High School.

Partnering with Access Information Management and Shred-It, the bureau will present a “Tear It Up” event for consumers from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept 20. The operation will go on simultaneously at McKinley and Castle high schools and at AIM’s warehouse in Kona.

Residents are invited to bring up to three boxes or bags of confidential documents - including check stubs, bank statements, and credit card offers - which will be shredded for free by the two security document destruction companies. BBB staff also will attend to provide information and answer questions.

For more information, call 533-4165.
