Brazilian Mime Stirs Up Keiki Book Week

Central Oahu libraries will celebrate Children’s Book Week with special performances of Jungle Tales by professional storyteller Antonio Rocha.

A native of Brazil, Rocha specializes in mime and studied under the late Marcel Marceau. Sharing animal tales and sound effects on an ecological theme, he earned his theater degree from the University of Southern Maine and has performed at storytelling festivals throughout the world.

Rocha will work his magic at 12:30 p.m. Nov. 13 at Wahiawa Library and at 12:45 p.m. Nov. 14 at Kahuku Library. On Nov. 15 he’ll be at Waialua Library at 10 a.m. and at Mililani Library at 3 p.m.
