The Guava Shop in Haleiwa will have its Community Clothing Swap Meet from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 26, as the beachy-chic boutique teams up with the nonprofit Kokua Hawaii Foundation for the second year.
Now through June 25, residents may bring their “swap-pable” clothes to the shop to receive swap tickets, which can be used to “purchase” clothing on the day of the event.
The number of tickets you get depends on the value of the clothing, as determined by Guava Shop owners and Kokua Hawaii Foundation volunteers.Value is based on cleanliness, quality, style and brand. Clothing must be clean (freshly laundered) and in “very good” condition.
All unclaimed items will be donated to various local nonprofits that provide clothing to those in need. Swap meet participants also will receive 10 percent off items in the entire store and 20 percent off all marked and green-themed items. Tickets also can be purchased for $3 each.
For more information, call 637-9670 or Liz Lerner at 388-9452. The shop is located at 66-165 Kamehameha Hwy.
