Hawaiian Electric Co. has compact florescent lights and other devices for 2,000 qualified low-income Central Oahu families to help reduce their electric bills.
Faucet aerators, low-flow shower heads, and water temperature setback accessories are available. According to HECO guidelines, one person can qualify if he or she makes $17,940 or less annually. A family of four qualifies if it earns a gross yearly income of $36,570.
Applications are available through Dec. 31 or until the 2,000 have been reached. Forms are available at the Central district Honolulu Community Action Program office, 99-102 Kalaloa St., Aiea.
