The Royal Hawaiian Band will kick off Hawaii’s 25th annual Hershey’s Track & Field Games at 8 a.m. June 21 at Mililani High School stadium.

The track meet will follow from 9 a.m. to about 1:30 p.m. with multiple events. Also known as the Hershey Youth Program, the games are for children ages 9 to 14 who will vie for a chance to compete in the corporation’s national track and field meet in August in Hershey, Penn.

“It’s a great thing,” said Neil Yamashiro of the city Parks and Recreation Department, which co-sponsors the state games with Hershey’s. “The top winners get a free, all-expenses-paid trip to the Pennsylvania meet.”

Registration deadline is June 13. For details, call Yamashiro at 675-6030. He works out of the city parks’ Leeward District office in Waipahu. State chairman for the games is Craig Mayeda at 768-3007.
