The state library system purged its files of all inactive accounts last month, including patrons who haven’t used their cards in the past three years to borrow materials.
Those who only use their library cards for Internet and other online access also should notice “the purge.”
Accounts can be re-activated for free by filling out a new application with valid identification at any library branch.
Removing inactive accounts from the patron database “will provide an updated, more accurate database for our business and management uses,” said officials.
