Paintings by artists Phillip Riley of Wahiawa, Judy Witten of Waimea and Jay Marr of Waialua, and sculptor David Close, a former North Shore resident, will be on display from Aug. 9 to Oct. 31 at Waialua Library.

“We’re a little limited in what we can put up, but we usually have three or four artists for each show,” said Salita “Petie” McManus, art show coordinator and member of Friends of Waialua Library. “We do this once or twice a year for the adults, we have one for junior high and high school, and one for elementary.

“We encourage everyone from the community to come.”

The exhibit opens Thursday with a reception by Friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m., when the artists will be available to answer questions about their work, and refreshments will be served.

A portion of their sales will be donated to the library to help pay for programs and materials. For more information, call 637-8286.
