Honolulu Habitat for Humanity will conduct several informational sessions this month and next on Oahu for families who cannot afford a traditional mortgage loan and are willing to help build their own home.
The sessions closest to Central Oahu are planned for 6:30 p.m. Sept. 1 and 8 at Kahuku Library.
Anyone who intends to apply for Honolulu Habitat for Humanity’s program is required to attend at least one session. Families who own or lease property and need a new or renovated home are especially encouraged to come.
Participants help build the home and then purchase the completed structure from Habitat for the cost of construction through a 20-year, no interest loan.
For more information, call 538-7070.
