The annual volume of young literary talent, Write On, HEA!, is out, and four of its best writers are from Central Oahu.
The Hawaii Education Association book features the best poems, essays, short stories, free poetry verse and problem-solving by Hawaii public school students who entered 2006 HEA’s Creative Writing Festival.
They include Mililani High sophomore Chelsey Nakanishi, first place for grades 9-12 in essay for A Little Piece of China; Mililani High senior Michael Fujimoto, second place in problem solving; Mililani High sophomore Philip Mocz, honorable mention in essay for Time Travel: The Paradox; and Kaneolani Elementary sixth-grader Joleen Contillo, honorable mention in poetry for Alien World.
