Recycling bins are set up at the Town Center of Mililani on weekends now through Feb. 19 to accept used telephone directories from area residents.

The five-week collection drive is sponsored by The Berry Co.‘s “Think Yellow, Go Green” project, and it will take phone books yellow and white from any publisher. The annual drive coincides with the delivery this month of the new Hawaiian Telcom Yellow Pages. The goal is to keep outdated directories out of the landfill, and to exceed last year’s haul of 55 tons.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday through Sunday, (Jan. 27-29, Feb. 3-5, Feb. 10-12 and Feb. 17-19) and the container is located behind Consolidated Theaters, next to Tesoro Gas Express and near the Reynolds Recycling truck. A volunteer will be on hand to assist. To arrange for a bulk pickup, call 833-2018.

Other recycling sites are at Windward Mall, Kahala Mall and Ward Centers.
