Stephany Nihipali Vaioleti has returned to Kahuku Hospital to serve as its interim administrator during the transition to Kahuku Medical Center.

“The hospital was an independent entity, but it will now be a part of Hawaii Health Systems Corporation, which means we will have access to more resources,” Vaioleti said.“It’s very challenging because we are still learning so much.”

A social worker from 1998 to 2006 with the hospital, the Hauula resident came back in January 2007 when the current board asked her to be its interim administrator. The Kamehameha graduate oversees the day-to-day operations until Lance Segawa assumes leadership for Kahuku Medical Center - pending board approval. Vaioleti will continue on as assistant administrator and compliance officer.

“I love my job,” she admitted. “I’m learning new things every day.”
