The Mamoru and Aiko Takitani Foundation presented nearly $100,000 in scholarships last month to 61 public and private school seniors across the state, including four outstanding students from Central Oahu schools.

Established by the makers of Hawaiian Host chocolates, the scholarship fund has awarded more that $1.3 million in college grants since 1993 to Hawaii students based on academic achievement, community service and financial need.
