Crafters, performers and food vendors will shut down Waialae Avenue between Koko Head and 11th avenues from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. this Saturday for the fourth annual Celebrate Kaimuki Kanikapila Craft Fair and Street Festival.
Visitors can sample products and food from merchants and vendors and enter prize drawings - including a “Passport to Kaimuki” package worth more than $300. Johnny Kai and Jeffrey Apaka will emcee entertainment from two stages.
Admission and parking are free, with five lots open along the main festival drag. Paid parking is at Kaimuki Municipal Lots 1 and 2, the AMPCO Lot behind 3660 Wilhelmina Rise, and on the street. Bikers can park near Larry’s Auto Parts. For bus detours, call 848-5555 or visit thebus.org.
Celebrate Kaimuki Kanikapila is organized by the Kaimuki Business and Professional Association and its foundation with support from the city, the mayor, the mayor’s Office of Economic Development and the Hawaii Tourism Authority. Proceeds go to scholarships, revitalization projects and community events such as KBPA Easter egg hunt, Halloween costume contest and Christmas parade.
