* NEIGHBORS Area neighborhood boards meet at 7 p.m. on the following dates: Kaimuki on Nov. 21 at Liliuokalani Elementary School; Hawaii Kai on Nov. 27 at Hahaione Elementary School; Kuliouou-Kalani Iki on Dec. 6 at Aina Haina Library; and Palolo on Dec. 12 in the Palolo Elementary School cafeteria; Call 527-5749.
* HOLIDAY CLOSURES All public libraries and schools are closed Nov. 22 for Thanksgiving. Schools reopen on Nov. 26.
* HAWAII KAI PARADE Hawaii Kai’s annual Keiki Kalikimaka Parade begins at 10 a.m. Nov. 24 at Kamiloiki Park and ends at Koko Marina Center with a holiday celebration. Call 395-3384.
* TREE ORDERS Orders are due by Nov. 26 for sheared Douglas fir trees from Kaiser High School ($65 to $75), with proceeds going to Project Grad. Pick up is Dec. 1. For order forms, go to www.kaiserprojectgrad.org or call 394-1200.
* TEEN PAGEANT The Miss Hawaii Jr. Teen America 2008 Pageant is booked for Nov. 28 at Mamiya Theatre. Call 387-6560.
* BLOOD DRIVES The Hawaii Blood Bank conducts donor drives from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 29 at Chaminade University, and from 7 a.m. to noon Dec. 9 at Hawaii Kai Towne Center. Call 845-9966.
* HANAUMA TALKS UH Sea Grant students present free lectures at 6:30 p.m. Thursdays in the Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve theater. Topics Nov. 29 are Hawaiian reef fishes and invertebrates, effects of storms on air-sea exchange in Kaneohe Bay and phosphorus bioavailability at Heeia Fishpond. Dec. 6 offers a screening of the BBC film Shallow Seas. Call 397-5840.
