Below are highlights of what’s happening in the East Oahu community in the next few weeks.

* MUSICAL Diamond Head Theatre’s Meet Me in St. Louis plays Thursday-Sunday now through Dec. 15. For tickets, call 733-0274.

* NEIGHBORS Area neighborhood boards meet at 7 p.m. on the following dates: KuliououKalani Iki on Dec. 6 at Aina Haina Library and Palolo on Dec. 12 in the Palolo Elementary School cafeteria. Call 527-5749.

* HANAUMA FILMS The Hanauma Bay Education Center screens episodes from BBC’s Planet Earth series at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 6 (Shallow Seas) and Dec. 13 (Ocean Deep). Call 397-5840.

* PARADE The Kaimuki Christmas Parade, featuring the Royal Hawaiian Band, begins at 6 p.m. Dec. 6, marching from the Chaminade campus to the city parking lot by Koko Head Avenue. Call 734-0277.


* RECYCLING Niu Valley Middle School conducts a curb-side HI-5 recycling drive from 7:15 to 10:30 a.m. Dec. 7 in front of the school on Halemaumau Street. Proceeds will go into a fund to purchase laptops for the computer lab. Call 728-4934.

* CONCERTS Sean Na’auao performs in Kahala Mall’s “Shine” Holiday Concert at 2 p.m Dec. 8, and John Cruz sings at 2 p.m. Dec. 15. Call 732- 7736. * SANTA TEA The Kahala Hotel serves “Afternoon Tea with Santa” at 2 and 4 p.m. Dec. 8, 15 and 22 on the veranda. Admission is $32 for adults and $24 for keiki. Call 739-8760.

* BLOOD DRIVE The Hawaii Blood Bank conducts donor drives from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Dec. 9 at Hawaii Kai Towne Center and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 13 in the Kaimuki Municipal Parking Lot on Harding Avenue. Call 845-9966.

* TABLEAUX Waiokeola Congregational Church presents “The Wonders of Christmas in Art and Song” at 5 p.m. Dec. 9, featuring four tableaux of living holiday art through the ages. Call 737-0541. The church is located at 2704 Kilauea Ave.

* NEWCOMERS Honolulu Newcomers Club hosts a Welcome Aloha Coffee at 10 a.m. Dec. 13 and its monthly luncheon at 11:30 p.m. Dec. 20. Call 591-7600.


* HIKE The Hawaiian Trail & Mountain Club leads a 6-mile, intermediate hike on the Wailupe Loop at 8 a.m. Dec. 16. Go to www.htmclub.org

* BOAT PARADE The Festival of Lights Boat Parade runs from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. Dec. 15 in Koko Marina with entertainment and judging at Hawaii Kai Towne Center. Call 941-0440.

* MARKETS The Farmers Market is open from 7:30 to 11 a.m. Saturdays at KCC (848-2074); the People’s Open Market is 6:30 to 7:30 a.m. Wednesdays at Jarrett Middle School and 1 to 2 p.m. Saturdays at the Hawaii Kai Park-n-Ride (522-7088).
