Below are highlights of what’s happening in the East Oahu community in the next few weeks.
* NEIGHBORS Area neighborhood boards meeting at 7 p.m. include: Kuliouou Aug. 7 at Aina Haina Library; Palolo Aug. 13 in the Palolo Elementary School cafeteria; Diamond Head-Kapahulu-St. Louis Heights Aug. 14 at the Ala Wai Clubhouse; Kaimuki Aug. 20 in the Liliuokalani Elementary School cafeteria; and Hawaii Kai Aug. 26 in the Hahaione Elementary School cafeteria. * BLOOD DRIVES Hawaii Blood Bank conducts donor drives from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Aug. 10 at Hawaii Kai Towne Center; from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 15 at Foodland headquarters on Harding Avenue (bloodmobile in Kaimuki municipal lot); and from 7 a.m. to noon Aug. 24 at Kahala Mall (by Macy’s men’s department). * NUTCRACKER Hawaii State Ballet offers online ticket discounts through Aug. 16 on its December production of The Nutcracker, set for Dec. 12-21 at Mamiya Theatre. Call 550-8457.
* SCRAP BOOKS A scrap-booking consultant plans a “Scrap and Slap” session from 1 to 5 p.m. Aug. 17 in the Koko Head Elementary School cafeteria for people who enjoy scrap-booking. * eBAY TIPS The U.S. Postal Service presents a class for small-business people, “Selling on eBay,” from 5 to 8 p.m. Aug. 20 in Kopiko 127 and 128 at Kapiolani Community College. Fee is $7, or $10 at the door. Call 734-9256.
