* SCHOOL CLOSURES All public schools and libraries are closed Nov. 4 for the General Election and Nov. 11 for Veterans Day.

* NEIGHBORS Area neighborhood boards meeting at 7 p.m. this month include: Kuliouou Nov. 6 at Aina Haina Library; Palolo Nov. 12 in the Palolo Elementary School cafeteria; Diamond Head-Kapahulu-St. Louis Heights Nov. 13 at the Ala Wai Clubhouse; Kaimuki Nov. 19 in the Liliuokalani Elementary School cafeteria; Waialae-Kahala Nov. 20 at Wesley United Methodist Church; and Hawaii Kai Nov. 25 in the Hahaione Elementary School cafeteria. * CRAFT FAIR The “Season’s Best” Kaimuki Craft & Gift Fair is open from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Nov. 8 at Aliiolani Elementary School. Call 683-6064.

* WALDORFAIRE The annual Honolulu Waldorfaire is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 8 at 350 Ulua St. in Niu Valley, featuring live music, food booths by professional chefs, pony rides, circus acts, crafts, pumpkin rolling and much more. Call 377-5489, ext. 2.

* WAIALAE HIKE The Hawaiian Trail & Mountain Club leads a 4-mile, intermediate ridge hike to Wiliwilinui in Waialae Iki at 8 a.m. Nov. 8. Go to http://www.htmclub.org.

* BLOOD DRIVES The Hawaii Blood Bank conducts donor drives from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Nov. 9 at Hawaii Kai Towne Center, from 9 am. to 4 p.m. Nov. 10 at Chaminade University (below Ching Hall), from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 17 at Kapiolani Community College, and from 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Nov. 23 at Kahala Mall by Macy’s. * TRUST WORKSHOP A workshop on how to protect yourself and your family through trusts and powers of attorney is set for 6 p.m. Nov. 10 at Kapiolani Community College, led by attorney Libby Tomar. Fee is $25. Call 734-9211.

* BAND FEST The Kaiser and Kalani high school bands perform in the UH Rainbow Invitational Marching Band Festival at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 10 at Aloha Stadium. Admission is $7 and $5. Call 956-7657.

* CONCERT The Hawaii Youth Symphony orchestra performs at 11 a.m. Nov. 16 at Kahala Mall. Call 941-9706.

* CHILDREN’S COUNCIL The East Honolulu Community Children’s Council meets at 5 p.m. Nov. 19 in the Aina Haina Elementary School media room. Parents of children with special needs are welcome. Call 428-1738.

* WAR FILMS The Hawaii Wartime Film Series concludes with Steven Fredrick’s “Hawaii During World War II; the Movies and the Music of the 1940s” at 7 p.m. Dec. 3 in a Hawaii Kai Home. Admission is $10. For directions and reservations, call 396-0674.

* DHT MUSICAL Diamond Head Theatre presents the musical Peter Pan from Dec. 5 through 21. Call 733-0274.

* VOLLEYBALL CLINICS Hawaii Junior Volleyball Club holds clinics from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. every Sunday through November in the Kaiser High School gym for boys and girls age 12 and under. Fee is $15 for insurance plus a one-time $50 equipment charge. Call head coach Jon Stanley at 395-6536.

* TAHITIAN DANCE Royal Polynesian Keiki Tahitian Dance classes are held Saturday mornings at Kahala Elementary School for beginning and intermediate students. Call Nalani at 277-2205.

* SENIORS The Koko Head Seniors meet for a program or activity at 10 a.m. Wednesdays at Kuapa Isle Clubhouse at Hawaii Kai Drive and Opihikao Way. Call Casey at 395-3096.

* MUSIC Kona Brewing Co. Pub in Koko Marina Center has live music Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 6 to 8 p.m. Call 394-5662.

* YOGA Inner Fire Hawaii offers Kundalini and Hatha yoga classes at 6 p.m. each Tuesday in Portlock. Fee is $10 per class. Call 255-9839.

* MARKETS The KCC Farmers Market is open from 7:30 to 11 a.m. every Saturday at the college (848-2074). The People’s Open Market is open from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m. Wednesdays at Jarrett Middle School and from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturdays and the Hawaii Kai Park-n-Ride (522-7088).

* AIKIDO The Hawaii Kai Aikido Association offers classes at 7:30 p.m. Monday and Wednesday and 2 p.m. Saturday at Koko Head District Park. Call 722-8769 or 387-1655.
