* ST.LOUIS HEIGHTS St. Louis Heights Community Association meets at 7 p.m Dec. 14 at Hokulani Elementary School. Call 737-5654.

* NEIGHBORS Kaimuki Neighborhood Board meets at 7 p.m. Dec. 16 at Liliuokalani Elementary cafeteria. Call 768-3710.

* FENCE VARIANCE The city Department of Planning and Permitting has a public hearing at 1:30 p.m. Dec. 17 on a zoning variance at 37 Moloaa St. in Hawaii Kai to allow a fence to exceed the height limit and encroach into the front yard. Call 768-8022.

* KCC OPEN HOUSE Kapiolani Community College hosts an open house at 9 a.m. Dec. 18 at the Kahikoluamea Center, Iliahi 231 offering an overview of the college, its application process, financial aid and a campus tour. Call 734-9399.

* PUPPETS Christy Lipps presents a free show, Holiday Season Puppet Times, at 10:30 a.m. Dec. 19 at Aina Haina Library bringing songs, finger plays and plenty of puppets. Call 377-2456.

* BENEFIT FAIR Kaimuki High School has a holiday craft fair Dec. 19, including a silent auction to benefit its scholarship fund. Call 733-4900.

* BALLET Hawaii State Ballet presents The Nutcracker now through Dec. 20 at Mamiya Theatre. Curtain is 7 p.m.Fridays,3:30 and 7 p.m. Saturdays, and 1 and 4:30 p.m.Sundays.Tickets cost $30 to $18. Call 550-8457.
