* BOE BALLOT Kahala Nui hosts a free lecture on the Board of Education ballot initiative at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 2. Guest speaker is Randy Baldemor from Hawaii’s Children First. For reservations, call 218-7091.

* HOMELESS SEMINAR A community discussion of “Homeless in Hawaii” is planned for 6 p.m. Aug. 5 and 19 at Whole Foods Market’s Kahala cafe. Call 738-0820.

* MUSICAL Diamond Head Theatre has added shows of The Sound of Music at 3 p.m. Aug. 7 and 4 p.m. Aug. 8. Call 733-0274.

* CHURCH FAIR Unity Church of Hawaii hosts a Products and Services Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 7 at 3608 Diamond Head Circle where merchants and businesses promote their products. Call 735-4436.

* ADULT SCHOOL Kaimuki and Kaiser Community Schools for Adults register students for fall classes Aug. 7-19 at Kaimuki High (733-0860) and Kaiser High (394-1236).

* KALAMA CLUSTER The city Department of Planning and Permitting accepts comments through Aug. 9 on a proposed 26-unit cluster housing plan for Mokuhano Street in Kalama Valley. Materials are available at Hawaii Kai satellite city hall. Call 768-8034.

* ASSOCIATION MEETS St. Louis Heights Community Association has its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Aug. 9 at Hokulani Elementary School to discuss the proposed traffic signal for St. Louis Drive and Dole Street, and recent problems at Waahila State Recreation Area. Call Rev. Wayne Gau at 737-5654.
