ACLU Sets Hawaii Kai Meeting On Mission

The American Civil Liberties Union of Hawaii Foundation marks its 45th year with a series of Oahu community meetings this month, including one from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Aug. 19 in Kaiser High School library.

“Getting community feedback and participation will help the ACLU better fulfill its mission,” said executive director Vanessa Chong. The mission is to protect fundamental freedoms enshrined in the state and federal constitutions.

Community board members and ACLU staff will be on hand to discuss goals and answer questions.

Other meetings are this Friday at Haleiwa Art Gallery, Aug. 18 at Kailua High School and Sept. 9 at UH Manoa’s George Hall. For more information, call 522-5904.
