New Ranch House To Open

Del.icio.usArmed with a new concept and dining experience, The Ranch House plans a soft opening Jan. 27 at the former Sergio’s Italian Restaurant location on Kapahulu Avenue. A grand opening is set for Feb. 15.
“We did a lot of research and talked to the East Oahu community to find out what was missing in the area,” explained W. Buddy Moore, vice president of Restaurants Hawaii. “Sergio’s was great, but it was more for special occasions. The Ranch House is a more routine place, more affordable - it’s a family restaurant.” The idea is to bring back some of the tradition of the original Ranch House of an earlier era in Aina Haina, he added.
Open daily for dinner from 5 to 9:30 p.m., it will offer signature items like prime rib, huli huli chicken, oxtail soup, meat loaf and pork chops, to name a few. Moore describes the menu as “a variety of local comfort food.”
“We’re working hard on the recipes, and we want to create each item as one that each customer will want to come to the restaurant specifically for,” he said. “We want each dish to be special.”
Sergio’s remains open at its original location in the Rainbow Bazaar on the second floor of the Hilton Hawaiian Village.
