While the fall season brings crisp leaves, pumpkins and cooler weather to some places, in Kapolei it brings Kapolei Middle School’s ninth annual Fall Festival.

The popular West side fundraising event is happening from 1:30 to 9:30 p.m. Oct. 26 on campus, organized by the school Ohana and Parent Community Networking Center. Proceeds from this staff fundraiser will be used to purchase items in the classrooms, fund student projects and defer costs of field trips throughout the year.

“Our Fall Festival has been growing each year, and this year we have more food and craft vendors,” said Terry Bunkley, PCNC facilitator. “Our staff is very excited about the games and food they will be selling at the event.”

Papa John’s Pizza, Jamba Juice, Uncle Lani’s Poi Mochi, KC Waffle Dogs and Hawaiian Roasted Corn will be on site, along with many carnival rides, games and inflatables for the kids to enjoy.

“KMS students look forward to the event because they are excused from their classroom early in the day to enjoy the rides and games before it opens up to the community,” added Bunkley. “The entertainment is our KMS students and teachers. It’s always fun to see our own talent.”

Wrapping up the day is a feature movie showing at 7 p.m. on the school’s cultural mound. While the movie title isn’t being announced, a hint has been offered - it’s about a house monster.

Admission and parking are free. Kapolei Middle School is located at the intersection of Kapolei Parkway and Kamaaha Avenue. For more information, call 693-7025.
