Below are highlights of what’s coming up in the West Oahu community.
* The Hawaii Blood Bank conducts a donor drive from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 13 at Leeward Community College. Call 845-9966.
* The Hawaii Student Digital Showcase airs The Hawaiian Cinderella, a project by Pearl Ridge Elementary School students, at 5 p.m. Tuesdays, 4 p.m. Thursdays and 9 a.m. Saturdays on ‘Olelo TV channel 56.
* The Ewa Neighborhood Board meets at 7 p.m. Sept. 14 in the Ewa Beach Library. Call 527-5749.
* Kapolei Library conducts a free Play Morning for children age 2 and up at 10 a.m. Sept. 14, 21 and 28, using educational toys.An adult must accompany the child. Call 693-7050.
* The annual Marriott Links to Literacy golf tourney starts at 11:30 a.m. Sept. 15 on the Ko Olina Golf Course, with proceeds going to Friends of the Library of Hawaii (536-4174); Junior Achievement of Hawaii holds its annual Golf Classic Sept. 28 on the Kapolei Golf Course (545-1777).
* The Friends of Waipahu Library hold a book sale from 10 a.m to 3 p.m. Sept. 16 at the library. Donations are welcome prior to the sale, which will benefit the library. Call 675-0358.
* Hawaii Okinawa Center hosts “the largest indoor bon dance” from 5 to 10 p.m. Sept. 16 at the center, 94-587 Ukee St. in Waipio Gentry. The free event marks the last bon dance of the season with plenty of food,live music and dancing. Call 676-5400.
* The Nature Conservancy conducts a 3-mile hike on the Kaluaa Loop Trail in Honouliuli from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Sept. 17. Fee is $10. Call 587-6220.
* Pali Momi offers free blood pressure and sugar level testing Sept. 18 from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Pearlridge Center Uptown (fronting Cookie Corner).
* The Royal Hawaiian Band plays at noon Sept. 20 at Kapolei Hale. Call 922-5331.
* Kapolei Library’s free “Movies Under the Stars"program presents film host Steven Fredrick showing The Big Band Music of Hawaii at 7 p.m. Sept. 20 on the library lawn. Call 693-7050.
* Taste at Kapolei, a major annual fundraiser sponsored by the Kapolei Rotary Club, is set for 5:30 to 9 p.m. Sept. 23 at Ko Olina Resort & Marina’s fourth lagoon. Admission is $70 for adults, $30 for children. For tickets, call 674-2500.
* The Campbell High School Class of 1966 plans its 40-year reunion for Oct. 2-6 in Las Vegas. Members of the 1965 class are also welcome. Call 671-0049.
