* MILITARY SALUTE Pearl City Sam’s Club welcomes military families (active and retired) to a free holiday photo session during regular business hours Dec. 1 and 15. Participants also receive 30 complimentary 4x8 greeting cards ($10.50 value). Call 456-7788.

* CHOIR The Pearl City Elementary School choir performs at 7 p.m. Dec. 3 at the Pearlridge Uptown Center stage. Call 488-0981.

* HOLIDAY PROGRAMS Ewa Beach Librarian Zhan Hunt reads to children ages 3 and up during a special Christmas Storytime at 10:30 a.m. Dec. 3. Other free events include Holiday Doodles with Allen Tsukamoto at 11 a.m. Dec.3; Crochet Your Own Stocking with Gloria Arias at 2 p.m. Dec. 3 (yarn and crochet needles provided; limit 10 participants); and a screening of The Muppets Christmas Carol at 2:30 p.m. Dec. 4. * PEARL LUNCH The Pearl Restaurant at Leeward Community College is open for lunch Wednesday-Friday through Dec. 5. Hours are 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and feature contemporary cuisine from the culinary students. Special student menus are planned for Dec. 3 to 5. For reservations, call 455-0475.

* GIFT FAIR Pearl City Nursing Home presents its first Christmas Gift and Craft Fair from 1 to 5:30 p.m. Dec. 5 featuring 20 vendors at 919 Lehua Ave. Proceeds benefit resident activities. Call 453-1919.

* SURF CLINIC Girls Who Surf offers kama’aina surf lessons at 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Dec. 6 at the Kalaeloa Campgrounds in Kapolei (near White Plains Beach off Coral Sea Road in Barbers Point). Fee is $60 per person, plus tax. Call 772-4583.
