* HOLIDAY All public schools and libraries are closed Jan. 19 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
* BLOOD DRIVES Hawaii Blood Bank conducts donor drives from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jan. 19 at Foodland in Ewa Town Center, and from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jan. 24 at Kapolei Shopping Center. Call 845-9966.

* QUILT PROJECT Volunteers with the Home of the Brave Quilt Project return to the Pacific Aviation Museum Jan. 19, Feb. 16, May 25 and July 4 with quilts for family members of Hawaii soldiers who have died serving in Iraq/Afghanistan. Call 441-1000.
* ROYAL MUSIC The Royal Hawaiian Band plays at noon Jan. 21 at Kapolei Hale. Call 922-5331.

* HEALTHY AGING Pearl City Library hosts a “Healthy Aging” program at 9:30 a.m. Jan. 22 on how to save elders from accidental falls. Kapiolani Community College’s physical therapy assistants program sponsors the free, interactive session. Call 453-6566.
* NEIGHBORS The Waipahu Neighborhood Board meets at 7 p.m. Jan. 22 at the FilCom Center on Mokuloa Street; the Pearl City board meets at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 27 at Highlands Intermediate School cafeteria; and the Makakilo-Kapolei-Honokai Hale board meet at 7 p.m. Jan. 28 at Kapolei High School cafeteria.
