* SPRING BREAK Hawaii public school students return to classes April 6 from their two-week spring break.
* TANGO CLASSES An eight-week tango class kicks off at 7 p.m. April 6 in the Newtown Rec Center, 98-456 Kaahele St. in Aiea. Cost is $32, with proceeds going to the Honolulu Lions Club’s Kapiolani Ballroom Dancers. Call 554-1561.

* WEST OAHU DAY UH West Oahu celebrates West Oahu Day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 9 in the Pearl City campus courtyard with entertainment, prizes, food, a white elephant sale, Hawaiian games, a book drive and more. Call 454-4821.
* LAB THEATRE The Leeward Community College Lab Theatre presents A Queen for Romancia by Alvin Chan at 8 p.m. April 9 to 11. Admission is $10. Call 455-0549.
* BLOOD DRIVES Hawaii Blood Bank conducts donor drives from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. April 9 at Leeward Community College; 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 10 at Resurrection of the Lord Church in Waipahu; 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 15 in the Aiea High School library; 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 16 at Bank of Hawaii Kapolei; and 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 19 at Waikele Center by Leonard’s Malasada wagon. * ID SAFETY Welmon “Rusty” Walker Jr. presents a series of free informational workshops on ID theft awareness and deterrence at 7:30 p.m. April 9, 16, 23 and 30 in Denny’s Restaurant Banquet Room at Pearlridge Center. Space is limited. Call 780-4269.
* RECYCLING Alvah Scott Elementary School hosts an Aloha Aina Earth Day recycling drive from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.April 11, welcoming all recyclables from metal and cell phones to cooking oil and computers. For more information and to request pickup of unwanted cars, call 306-1876.
* EGG HUNT Saint Nicholas Episcopal Church plans a brunch, a “huge” Easter egg hunt and keiki fun and games after the 10 a.m. worship service April 12 at Island Pacific Academy. Call 753-7788.
* EASTER CELEBRATION Moanalua Community Church hosts its third annual Spring Easter Celebration from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. April 12 at 4867 Bougainville Drive, with an egg hunt, bouncers, games, contests and prizes. Call 783-7471.

* DANCE, GUITAR FESTS Leeward Community College presents its LCC Dance Festival at 7:30 p.m. April 17 and 18 ($12 and $10), and the LCC Guitars directed by Peter Kun Frary at 4 p.m April 19 ($5). Both are in the college theater. Call 455-0385.

* NATURE BUILDING Tim Rieth conducts a series of workshops on environmentally sound building techniques April 25-26 and May 16-24 at MA’O Organic Farms in Waianae. Work trade opportunities and a sliding scale on tuition are available. A long-time nature builder, Rieth has erected green buildings from a learning center in Thailand to a summer home for the British royal family. * NIGHT BOWLING Aiea Bowl on Aiea Heights Drive offers weekly nighttime themes for the public with entertainment, glow bowling, deejays, pupus and drink specials, and prizes from 9:30 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Moonlight Mondays, Her Way Thursdays, Funtastic Fridays and Super Duper Saturdays (9 p.m. to closing).
