* DISASTER PREP Inventor Tom Thompson presents “How to Prepare for a Disaster” at 10:30 a.m. June 27 at Kapolei Library. Thompson has invented more than 20 patented hurricane and earthquake protection products. Call 693-7050.

* XERISCAPE MEETING Friends of Halawa Xeriscape Garden holds its annual general membership meeting at 10 a.m. June 27 at the garden on Iwaina Street. Call 748-5312.

* WORM WORKSHOP Ewa Blue Worms presents a free workshop to educate the public on the benefits of recycling with worms from 10:30 a.m. to noon June 27 at The Pet Depot (91-919 Fort Weaver Rd in Ewa Beach). Call 687-7387.

* WIENERS The Oscar Mayer Wienermobile visits Ewa Beach Foodland from 2 to 6 p.m. June 27, the Kunia Times Supermarket from 2 to 6 p.m. July 2 and the Waipio Foodland from 8 a.m. to noon July 3.

* BLOOD DRIVES Hawaii Blood Bank conducts donor drives from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. June 27 at Kapolei Shopping Center, 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 28 at Foodland in Ewa Town Center, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 30 at the Kakuhihewa Building in Kapolei and 12:15 to 3 p.m. June 30 at Waipahu Civic Center on Mokuola Street. * SCHOOL SUPPLIESPrudential Locations employees accept school supplies July 6-10 at Pearlridge on Kaonohi and Pearlridge Uptown for its “Backpack to School” project for needy children throughout Oahu and Maui. Call Monica Salter at 265-0073.

* BALLROOM DANCING The Pearlridge chapter of the Hawaii Ballroom Dance Association is registering students each Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Waimalu Elementary School cafeteria for its summer classes in East Coast Swing, rumba and fox trot. Classes begin July 7. Call 488-3935.
