* TRANSIT WORKSHOPS The city’s High-Capacity Transit Corridor Project conducts community workshops at 6:30 p.m. June 29 and Aug. 5 at Kapolei High School cafeteria on the three proposed rail transit stations for West Oahu. Call 566-2299.
* SWIM OUTREACH Niuhi Aquatics offers a free Community Outreach Clinic in water safety and swim skills from 4 to 7 p.m. June 29 and 30 at the old Barbers Point/Kalaeloa fitness center, in partnership with Hope Chapel Kapolei, which also will offer Bible study swim lessons. * NEW PLANETS Solar system ambassador Gregory McCartney discusses details and names of new planets beyond our solar system with photos from NASA at 6:30 p.m. July 1 at Kapolei Library. Call 693-7050.

* STORIES, CLOWNS Waipahu Library conducts free Preschool Playtimes at 10:30 a.m. July 2, 9 and 16 for ages 3 and older.Also, the Aloha Clowns Magical Bubble Show is set for 10:30 a.m. July 7 for all ages, and Discover Toys presents “Playtime with Education Toys” at 10:30 a.m. July 14. * LIBRARY CLOSURES Most public libraries are closed July 3-5 in observance of the Independence Day weekend.

* FIREWORKS Wet ‘n’ Wild Hawaii holds a special Fourth of July celebration to benefit Leeward nonprofit Konishiki Kids Foundation from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., with games, prizes, live entertainment and a fireworks show.
