* CANS Pearlridge Center’s annual Canstruction kicks off from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 15 when 10 teams of architects build giant structures out of cans of food in Uptown as a promotion for Hawaii Foodbank. The structures remain on display for voting through Aug. 29. Call 488-0981.
* MISSOURI FILM Battleship Missouri Memorial invites the public to its “Friends and Films on the Fantail"from 5 to 9 p.m.Aug. 15 featuring The Water Horse: Legend of the Deep.
