* NEIGHBORS Pearl City Neighborhood Board meets at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 25 at Highlands Intermediate School cafeteria, Makakilo-Kapolei-Honokai Hale at 7 p.m. Aug. 26 at Kapolei High School cafeteria and Waipahu at 7 p.m.Aug. 27 at FilCom Center. Call 768-3710.

* MILITARY OUTREACH Calvary Chapel of Honolulu concludes a week of military outreach at 6:30 p.m Aug. 26 with a keynote speech by former Green Berets commander William “Jerry” Boykin. The contemporary Christian band VOTA will perform a mini-concert prior to Boykin’s talk. The church is on Komo Mai Drive in Aiea. Call 524-0844.

* CATARACTS Kaiser’s Waipio Clinic hosts a Senior Summit at 10 a.m. Aug. 26 on optional treatments for cataracts. The lecture is free and open to the public in the first-floor conference room. The clinic is at 94-1480 Moaniani St. Call 432-5434.

* FOSTER HELP Family Programs Hawaii has a volunteer orientation at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 27 at the Kapolei Starbucks for those wishing to help foster children with their time, talent and patience. Call 521-9531, ext. 228.

* GOLF FUN FEST St. Elizabeth Church in Aiea conducts its 10th annual Golf Fun Fest at 12:30 p.m. Aug. 28 at Waikele Golf Course. Call 291-4687.

* BON DANCE Aiea Hongwanji Buddhist Temple has its bon dance at 7 p.m. Aug. 29 at 99-186 Puakala St. (488-5685).

* AIEA REUNION Aiea Elementary and Intermediate School class of 1959 marks its 50-year reunion at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 29 at Sam Snead’s Tavern, 943 Valkenburgh St. A buffet dinner and live entertainment are planned. Call 625-8777.

* NARCONON Narconon Hawaii presents a First Step Program workshop from 1 to 6 p.m. Aug. 29 at 91-1011 Lexington St. in Kalaeloa.The free workshop, with breaks for refreshments, is for those suffering from substance abuse and addiction. * DECANSTRUCTION Pearlridge Center dismantles its “Canstruction” entries from 11:30 a.m. to about 12:30 p.m. Aug. 30 and donates all the cans to Hawaii Foodbank. Call 488-0981.

* WAIMALU HIKE Hawaiian Trail & Mountain Club leads a 6-mile intermediate hike to Waimalu Ditch at 8 a.m. Aug. 30. Go to www.htmclub.org.

* STORYTIME Waipahu Library offers free preschool storytime and activities at 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays from Sept. 1 to Oct. 13 with Ms. Christine. Call 675-0358.

* SIERRA CLUB Kapolei Library hosts a presentation by the Sierra Club at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 2 on the second floor with Hawaii chapter director Robert Harris. Call 693-7050.

* MA’O GALA, AUCTION Leeward Community College and MA’O Organic Farms present their annual benefit, MA’O ma Town, from 6 to 9 p.m. Sept. 5 at Hawaii State Art Museum. Tickets to the “pau harvest” celebration are $125. Tables are still available, and items for the silent auction are welcome. Proceeds support LCC scholarships for the farm’s interns. Call 696-5569.
