* STORYTIME Waipahu Library offers free pre-school storytime and activities at 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays from Sept. 1-Oct. 13 with Ms. Christine. Call 675-0358.

* SIERRA CLUB Kapolei Library hosts a presentation by the Sierra Club at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 2 on the second floor with Hawaii chapter director Robert Harris. Call 693-7050.

* ABWA MEETING The American Business Women’s Association’s Imua chapter has a general dinner meeting at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 10 at Pearl Country Club (98-535 Kaonohi St. in Aiea), with guest speaker Angelina Campos. * MA’O GALA Leeward Community College and MA’O Organic Farms present their annual benefit, MA’O ma Town, from 6 to 9 p.m. Sept. 5 at Hawaii State Art Museum. Tickets to the “pau harvest"celebration are $125. Tables are still available, and items for the silent auction are welcome. Proceeds support LCC scholarships for the farm’s interns. Call 696-5569.

* FILL THE BOOT Hawaii Firefighters Association stages its “Fill-the-Boot"drive from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 5 in front of Pearl City Shopping Center and Home Depot with proceeds from the cash donations going to Muscular Dystrophy Association.

* BLOOD DRIVE Hawaii Blood Bank conducts a donor drive from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 5 at Pearlridge Center Uptown, in the parking lot by Tilt. Call 845-9966.

* HEALTHY BABIES Meadow Gold searches for Hawaii’s cutest keiki in the preliminary round of its 56th annual Healthy Baby Contest from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 5 at Pearlridge Uptown Center Court. Prizes including a $2,500 U.S. savings bond for the first-place winner. Call 488-0981.

* LIBRARY CLOSURES Area public libraries are closed Sept. 5-7 for Labor Day weekend. Public schools are closed Sept. 7.

* SCHOOL FAIR Holomua Elementary School hosts its annual Ohana Fair from 4 to 8 p.m. Sept. 11 at 91-1561 Keaunui Drive in Ewa Beach. The public is invited to enjoy live entertainment, great food, games and prizes. Call 685-2000.

* BON DANCE Pearl City Nursing Home (919 Lehua Ave.) throws its annual bon dance from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 12. Money raised from the sale of food and baked goods goes toward the residents’ activities fund. Call 453-1919.

* HOOLAULEA Aloha Festivals presents the sixth annual Keiki Hoolaulea with non-stop entertainment from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 12 at Pearlridge Center, Uptown and Downtown.

* TASTE AT KAPOLEI Kapolei Rotary Club coordinates the 10th annual Taste at Kapolei from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Sept. 12 at Ko Olina, featuring chefs and food samplings from dozens of restaurants. Tickets cost $75 and $35; proceeds support scholarships for Leeward students. Call 545-2772.

* YARD SALE Waianae Intermediate School seventh-graders sell donated items to raise funds for the ‘Ai Pohaku Workshop from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 19-20 at 86-024 Glenmonger St. (corner of Pokai Bay and Glenmonger streets).
