Below are highlights of what’s coming up in West Oahu.

* BUSINESS FAIR The state Department of Business, Economic Development & Tourism conducts its 2010 Small Business Fair from 8:30 a.m. to noon May 5 in Kapolei High School cafeteria. To sign up for the free public fair, call 488-7205.

* ANTI-DRUG Deadline is May 5 to register for an Evidence-based Curriculum Fair on drug prevention, set for 8 a.m. May 17-18 at the FilCom Center in Waipahu. Free training with a dozen vendors is planned both days for prevention service providers, community coalitions, advisory members and substance abuse professionals. * BLOOD DRIVES Hawaii Blood Bank has donor drives from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 6 at Kapolei High School and 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. May 11 at Island Pacific Academy. Call 845-9966.

* EVENING CRAFTS Hawaii United Okinawa Association has its Evening Spring Craft Fair from 5:30 to 9 p.m. May 6 at Hawaii Okinawa Center, 94-587 Ukee St.,with food,entertainment, silent auction and 75 craft booths. Donations will be accepted for Hawaii Foodbank.

* AIEA MUSICAL Aiea Intermediate School Drama Club presents High School Musical Jr. May 7 and 8 at in the school cafeteria, at 99-600 Kulawea St. For details on the free public shows, call 483-7230.

* PLANTS FOR MOM Kapolei Shopping Center sponsors “Spice Up Mother’s Day” from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 8,giving away a free potted herb plant and recipe card in exchange for any receipt worth $10 or more from a center merchant.

* CRAFT FAIR Waipahu Project Grad has a Mother’s Day Craft & Gift Fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 8 at the high school, featuring food, entertainment, unique hand-made crafts and a white elephant sale. Call 228-1909.

* CHORAL CONCERT Leeward Community College presents its Spring Choral Concert at 7 p.m. May 8 in the college theater.Tickets cost $5 at the door. Call 455-0385.

* PRIDE 4 EWA Pride 4 Ewa runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 8 at Keanui Park with food, games, music, rides, displays and more. Bring a donation to Hawaii Foodbank. There’s a free shuttle from nearby parking. Call 384-8583.

* BOOK SIGNING Honolulu author and former chef Susan Yuen signs copies of her new book, Hawaii’s Bento Box Cookbook, Second Course, at 1 p.m. May 8 at Borders Pearlridge and 1 p.m. May 9 at Costco Waipio. Call 732-1709.

* HALAWA HIKE Hawaiian Trail & Mountain Club conducts a hike to Halawa Ridge at 8 a.m. May 9. Call 342-0617.

* CANDIDATES ON TV ‘Olelo Channel 54 airs taped messages from 13 of the 14 registered 1st Congressional District candidates at 8:30 p.m. May 9 and 2 p.m. May 21.

* WAIAU HIKE The Hawaiian Trial & Mountain Club conducts a 12-mile advanced ridge hike at 8 a.m. May 9 in Waiau to the Koolau summit. Go to http://www.htmclub.org.

* NEIGHBORS Aiea Neighborhood Board meets at 7:30 p.m. May 10 at Aiea Library, and the Ewa board meets at 7 p.m.May 13 at Ewa Beach Library. Call 768-3710.

* HIGHLANDS TRANSIT City planning officials lead a Pearl Highlands Rail Station workshop from 6:30 to 9 p.m. May 13 at Highlands Intermediate School to discuss final renderings and sketches. RSVP to 566-2299.
