Below are highlights of what’s coming up in West Oahu.
* BOARDS Area neighborhood boards meet this month at the following times and dates: Pearl City at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 23 in Highlands Intermediate School cafeteria; Makakilo-KapoleiHonokai Hale at 7 p.m. Jan. 24 in Kapolei High School cafeteria; and Waipahu at 7 p.m. Jan. 25 at Hawaii’s Plantation Village. * AGING Eileen KelleherOrnelles presents “Understanding Advance (end-of-life) Directives” in a Senior Summit series sponsored by Kaiser Permanente at 10 a.m. Jan. 24 in its Waipio Clinic conference room. The public is welcome. Call 432-2235.
* BUSINESS The Hawaii Women’s Business Center conducts a workshop on cash flow from 9 a.m. to noon Jan. 25 at Kapolei Hale. Fee is $35. Call 526-1001.
* OKINAWA The Hawaii United Okinawa Association seeks host families by Jan. 26 who can be there for visiting teens from Okinawa March 3 to 14. Call 676-5400.
* PARENTS Keiki Kani Music Studio in Aiea presents a free class to help parents encourage music appreciation and develop musical talent in their children at 3 p.m. Jan. 27 at 99-016A Kamehameha Hwy. Call 487-2275.
* ON STAGE Eight Leeward parochial schools entertain from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Jan. 27 at Pearlridge Uptown in celebration of Catholic Schools Week. Also at Pearlridge Uptown on Jan. 28: Ike Pono at 1 p.m. and Halau Hula O Nawahine at 2:30. Call 488-0981.
* COLLEGE Free help is being offered in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid at 1 p.m., Jan. 28 at Kapolei Middle School Cafeteria. Call 593-2262 or 591-2708. Also, a free college planning workshop, which covers college selection and financial aid, is scheduled at 7 p.m. Feb. 7 at Kapolei High School. Each family that attends receives a free workbook. * BLOOD The Hawaii Blood Bank conducts donor drives 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jan. 27 at Resurrection of the Lord Church in Waipahu, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 28 by Foodland at Ewa Town Center (91-1401 Ft. Weaver Road) and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 29 at Leeward Community College. Call 845-9966.

* GROUP HOUSING The Victory Ohana Prison Fellowship is holding a public hearing regarding using an apartment building on Pupuole Place in Waipahu to house men released from prison or psychiatric facilities, or who are homeless at 10 a.m., Feb. 9 in the Human Resources conference room of the City Hall Annex.
