* BAND CONCERTS The Royal Hawaiian Band performs at noon Aug. 15 at Kapolei Hale courtyard; at 6:45 p.m. Aug. 18 at Kapolei Sunset on the Plains; and 2 p.m. Aug. 25 at the Momilani Community Center Family Fun Day, 715 Hoomoana St. Call 922-5331.

* YOUTH SLAMM City of Refuge Christian Church hosts a Youth Slamm (Saving Lives and Moving Mountains) from 3 to 7 p.m. Aug. 18 at 94-897 Waipahu St. All youths 10 and older are invited to a program of singing, dancing, skits and dramatic readings on feelings, attitudes and challenges of teens today. * BENEFIT GALA A fundraiser for Waipahu’s Hale Kuhao housing project is set for 6 to 10 p.m. Aug. 18 in Hawaii Prince Golf Club’s Bird of Paradise Restaurant. Tickets are $100. Call 497-2350.
