Below are highlights of what’s coming up in West Oahu.

October

* PHONEBOOK RECYCLING Old phonebooks may be dropped off from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Tuesday through Saturday at Ilima Intermediate School. Look for the banner. The drive ends Nov. 17.

* GIFT IDEAS Family and Community Education presents free demonstrations on how to make holiday gifts at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 30 at Kapolei Library. Call 247-0421, ext. 106.

* BLOOD DRIVE Hawaii Blood Bank conducts a donor drive from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 30 at the Kapolei branch of Bank of Hawaii. Call 845-4710.

* TRICK-OR-TREATING Pearlridge Center’s Halloween activities begin with face painting at Uptown Center Court from 3 to 5 p.m. Oct. 31. From 5 to 7 p.m. the Uptown and Downtown shops are open for free trick-or-treating. Chris da Clown entertains Uptown at 7 p.m. Call 488-0981.

* DANCE PARTY Chez Sports Bar and Grill at Westridge Shopping Center features oldies and line dancing from 8 to 11 p.m. Oct. 31 and the bar’s first Halloween Spooktacular from 8 p.m. to midnight. Call 488-2439.

* WINTER BASEBALL Hawaii Winter Baseball League games are played Tuesday through Sunday, generally at noon and at 6:30 p.m. through Nov. 18 at Waipahu’s Hans L’Orange Field, with the title game set for 6 p.m. Nov. 19. Admission is $6 and $3. Call Kyle at 973-7247.
