Below are highlights of what’s happening in the West Oahu community in the next few weeks.
* Deadline is Aug. 22 to comment on a draft EIS for the UH West Oahu campus at Kapolei. Call Gene Awakuni at 454-4750.
* The Makakilo-Kapolei-Honokai Hale Neighborhood Board meets at 7 p.m. Aug. 23 in the Kapolei High School cafeteria. Call 527-5749.
* Kapolei High School presents the musical Once on this Island Aug. 24-Sept. 3 at the school. Call 479-5842.
* The Hawaii Blood Bank holds area donor drives from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.Aug. 26 at the LDS Makakilo Stake Center; and 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. Aug. 27 in the Pearl City High School cafeteria. Call 845-9966.
* The Royal Hawaiian Band plays a free concert at 1 p.m. Aug. 26 at Momilani Community Center. Call 922-5331.
* The Boys & Girls Club of Hawaii presents its annual “Walk in the Country"gala from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Aug. 26 at Lanikuhonua. Call 949-4203, ext. 30.
* A fundraiser for the Leeward YMCA , and retirement party for Sen. Brian Kanno, begins at 6 p.m. Aug. 26 at Waipahu Elementary School. Tickets are $25 per person. Call 671-6495.

* The Hawaiian Trail & Mountain Club leads an advanced 12-mile hike at 8 a.m. Sept. 10 on Manana ridge in Pacific Palisades. Call 674-1459.
* The Taste of Kapolei, a major annual fundraiser sponsored by the Kapolei Rotary Club, is set for 5:30 p.m. Sept. 23 at Ko Olina. Admission is $70 for adults, $30 for children. For tickets, call 674-2500.
* The Campbell High School Class of 1966 plans its 40-year reunion for Oct. 2-6 in Las Vegas. Members of the 1965 class are also welcome. Call 671-0049.
