Pearl City Library closed Sept. 13 for an air-conditioning upgrade project that will remove old parts of the existing air-conditioning system and replace them with new parts in a new system.

The book drop and parking lot also are closed.

The library’s new air-conditioning system, which will be more energy-efficient and reduce both electricity and repair costs, will be unveiled when the library (tentatively) reopens on Sept. 27. Until then, patrons can visit the libraries in Aiea (483-7333), Waipahu (675-0358), Mililani (627-7470) or Salt Lake (831-6831), or browse the HSPLS catalog online at librarieshawaii.org.
