With state buildings closed twice a month for furlough Fridays, that makes for a dozen fewer days that Hawaii State Federal Credit Union customers can fulfill their banking needs at the Kapolei branch, located on the second floor of the Kakuhihewa Building.
Furlough days at the bank went into effect late last year, with future closures planned for Jan. 15 and 29; Feb. 5 and 12; March 5 and 12; April 23 and 30; May 7 and 14; and June 18 and 25.
“The majority of our members who visit the Kapolei branch work in the state building, so it doesn’t affect them much, being that when we’re closed on furlough Fridays, they’re off as well,” said branch employee Tricia Buskirk, adding that the bank will continue to be open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday (minus furlough days).
