Chorale Will Fill PCCC With Springtime Music

Honolulu Chorale will perform its 44th spring concert at 4 p.m. Sunday at Pearl City Cultural Center, highlighting a father-daughter team that has enriched the Islands music scene.
Guest artist is Susan Duprey, who will direct the Windward Choral Society in a variety of ethnic and folk songs. The concert honors Duprey’s father, John McCreary, 80, former St. Andrew’s Cathedral organist and choral director at Iolani School, for his contribution to choral music in Hawaii.
The chorale will share works by Handel, Beethoven, Haydn and Schubert as well as the Gloria from Steven Porter’sJazz Mass. Conductor is Joseph McAlister with Sangeet Gellhorn at the piano.
