Imagine hundreds of young adolescents all in the same room for four hours in a building near you. Then put comedian Frank De Lima in front of the room.
That should explain the excitement emanating from Hawaii Okinawa Center from 9 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. April 20 as Adult Friends for Youth sponsors its 19th annual Student Transition Convention, kicking off this week and next at large venues all over the state.
In partnership with AFY, De Lima shares his tips on resisting peer pressure, responding to bullies and just coping with being in fifth or sixth grade - and facing the dreaded “intermediate school” world. Call 833-8775.
