Candidates have until 4:30 p.m. Friday (Nov. 19) to file nomination papers for the special nonpartisan election to replace West Oahu’s City Councilman Todd Apo.
Apo, who also was council chairman, resigned this month to work as director of public affairs for Disney’s Aulani Resort at Ko Olina. He had about two years left on his term.
For details on filing to run, call City Clerk Bernice Mau at 768-3802.
The election will be conducted by mail only to all registered voters. Absentee ballots also will be accepted from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 13-27 at Kapolei Hale and Honolulu Hale (except for Dec. 17, 24 and all Sundays).
Voter registration deadline is Nov. 29.
Apo represented District 1, which stretches from Makua to Ewa.
