Everyone knows the holidays have arrived when the Pearlridge Express comes chugging into town.
The train, which seats 15 keiki (under 48 inches tall) at at time, opened at Uptown Center Court Nov. 19 as part of a giant wonderland display. It is available for holiday rides through Jan. 2, thanks in part to affiliate Oahu Railway and Land Co. A portion of the $3 ride tickets and 10-ride booklets ($25) will benefit the Ewa-based Hawaiian Railway Society, and docents from the society will be aboard to share information about the Pearlridge Express and the Oahu Railway and Land Co.
Ride hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. through today (Nov. 24), 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Nov. 26-Dec. 23, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Dec. 24, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Dec. 26-Jan. 2.
The ride and mall will be closed Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
