The 64th annual Kaimuki Christmas Parade is set for 6 to 8 p.m. Dec. 2, and some space are still available for interested marchers.

The event starts at the Saint Louis/Chaminade campus and travels down to Waialae Avenue. The makai half is for marchers, and the mauka half will be contraflowed for traffic, from 3rd to Koko Head avenues. The parade ends at the municipal parking lot. About 1,500 marchers and 40 vehicles are expected.

“We always have a good crowd from the Kaimuki and neighboring communities,” said Lydia Chock, president of the Kaimuki Business and Professional Association which sponsors the march. “People will be able to see a lot - from Santa to firetrucks. It should be fun for all.”

Among the marchers are the Saint Louis, Kaimuki High and Sacred Hearts Academy bands, pageant queens, Kaimuki High’s homecoming king and queen, and area elementary schools and organizations.

For details or to reserve a place in the march, call 733-4047 or e-mail Kaimukichristmasparade@g mail.com.
